New Alta Ski Patrol Avalanche Dog

Posted: January 6th, 2014 | Author:

It’s a new year. And up here at Alta that new year has been paired with a new addition to the Alta Ski Patrol.

Skiers, meet Fitz.

Alta Ski Area Patrol Dog

Fitz and his handler, Adam.

Fitz is a 7 1/2 week old golden lab. Born at Utah’s DustBuster Kennels, he was just recently brought up to Alta by his handler, Patroller, Adam Nesbitt.

“Yeah, it’s his little Michael Jackson jacket.” – Adam

Too young to be working, Fitz will be spending his days getting acclimated to his surroundings, his new co-workers, and inevitably each and everyone of you reading this blog post. When he gets to be around 6 months old, Fitz and Adam will begin more serious training to get Fitz ready for his duties as an Alta Ski Area Avalanche Dog.

There’s something special about seeing this post, and knowing that one of our Dustbuster puppies will make such a difference in the world! We’re excited to watch Fitz grow up!

Hot Dog! I am so happy for your program, as are many who ski the greatest snow! Good Luck Adam and Fritz. Aunt Kate
