Heads up skiers,
While we may officially be closed for the 2013-2014 ski season, spring backcountry ski season is ramping up here in the Wasatch. With that in mind, we wanted to give you a small, but very important, update on the status of uphill traffic at Alta.
From May 16-18 Alta will be open to backcountry travel. However, be advised that Collins Gulch has machine worked snow and snow piles that you should be aware of.
Starting Monday, May 19, we will be working with snowcats and equipment in lower Collins Gulch. We will close access from the bottom of Corkscrew, Nina’s Curve or the Rustler cat track.
Backcountry skiers may still access upper Collins Gulch by gaining access west of the Collins lift line or through Albion Basin.
Thank you for your cooperation.
