Alta and skiing have been synonymous for over six decades. A wide variety of terrain and unparalleled snow conditions, combined with enthusiastic and dependable employees, create the setting for an enjoyable and healthy work environment. Alta Ski Area strongly upholds a commitment to the skiing experience by limiting the number of skiers at Alta in the area and by allowing no snowboarding. We are looking for motivated individuals who can help provide this experience for our skiers, who understand the value of service and have a love of the outdoors. Alta Ski Lifts Company operates the lift company, two restaurants, three ski shops and two demo centers. Private businesses operate the lodging and other dining facilities. Alta Skier Test
The Alta Skier Test is a requirement for Alta employees and their families prior to obtaining a season pass. The test is designed to raise awareness and increase knowledge about skier safety issues and mountain courtesy. The link below provides access to the test.
Appearance Standards
Employees of Alta Ski Lifts Company are expected to have a clean appearance that is safety conscious. Changes in appearance after hiring need prior approval of your supervisor. Hair and clothing should be worn so as not to endanger you or others. Your supervisor will be pleased to help answer any questions you may have with the following dress code.
- The head of your department will determine acceptable grooming and dress for your department.
- Company issued uniforms and other clothing worn on the job must be neat, clean, and kept in good repair.
- Do not wear the uniform off duty. The only exception for off duty wear will be for commuting to and from work, and then please conform to the dress code and be courteous and considerate of others.
- Any visible body piercing or tattoo will be allowed only at your supervisor’s discretion.
The Company will ask you to change your appearance, if in its discretion your appearance is unclean, offensive, disruptive, distracting, not safety conscious or otherwise unacceptable. If you change your appearance, it may become unacceptable to your supervisor and you will be asked to change it if you want to continue working.

How to Apply
A completed application is required. An interview may also be needed. In accordance with the Immigrations Reform and Control Act of 1986, any offer of employment is conditional upon satisfactory proof of an applicant's identity and legal ability to work in the United States. Interviews take place during the months of September and October at the ski area. The Alta Ski Area is an Equal Opportunity Employer and promotes a Drug-Free workplace.
