First Closing Day

Join us Sunday, April 17th for the First Closing Day of the 2021-22 Season.

Alta will be open daily until April 17th, 2022, then reopen for a three-day Bonus Closing Weekend Friday, April 22nd through Sunday, April 24th, 2022.

This Sunday also marks the last day of operations for many local lodges, and businesses.

  • Wasatch Benefit days are not valid on weekends
  • The UTA Ski Bus will not run on Sunday, April 17th. Please plan accordingly.
  • There will be no A.C.E. Easter Egg Hunt this season.
  • The Alta Lodge, Rustler Lodge and Alta Peruvian Lodge will close for the season on April 17th. The Snowpine will remain open.
  • April 17th is the final day for Sugarloaf pass, Supreme Lift and Alf’s main dining
  • No parking in Alta lots before 8am.

Top 10 Tips for enjoying the First Closing Day

  1. Remember to make your parking reservations on weekends through April 17th. Carpool with friends or family or plan to ski after 1pm.
  2. Closing days attract attention from local law enforcement—make good choices.
  3. Wasatch Benefit days are not valid on weekends, even on our First Closing Day and Bonus Closing Weekend.
  4. Please be considerate of other skiers while loading and unloading the lifts and while skiing.
  5. Open containers are not allowed on the lifts. If you choose to drink alcohol, please do so responsibly.
  6. Tailgating is permitted in Alta lots, but please be respectful of your car neighbors. Grills and hibachis are not allowed directly on the asphalt.
  7. As always, don't trash Alta. Make sure your food packaging and beverage containers end up in the trash or recycle bins.
  8. Keep the costumes gate-friendly, family-friendly and safe for skiing. Also, don't forget your pass.
  9. Please ski responsibly and be nice. It's been a great season, let's send it out on a positive note.
  10. Have fun! And wear sunscreen.
