Alta was proud to host SheJumps, today. They brought up a bunch of young ladies for free ski lessons. The weather was beautiful, the girls skied well and there were a whole lot of smiles on the mountain.
If you're not falling, you're not trying. Ricky Pires is from Brazil and goes to school at USC in Southern California. He probably wasn't prepared for a real Alta powder day. To be fair, he did make some good turns before this mishap.
The Seventy+ Ski Club brings 150 or so skiers to Alta every year. This year about 50 of them are actually over 80. They get after it so we had to settle for Howard, Tibor and Leone to represent the whole club.
For February 2nd (2/2), the Alta POD is a two-fer - a tutu racer in Alta's annual Groundhog Day race. Incidentally, no one saw their shadow here today, so we're going to be skiing for quite a while. *Edit:* Did I get the Groundhog thing backwards? It doesn't matter, at the rate this winter is going, we'll skiing well into July.
Alta ladies Chloe, Sara, Hannah, Rebecca and Sarah with an h, boogieing down Strawberry. Saturdays are Lady Shred day at Alta. Meet at 1 PM out in front of the Skier Services ticket office if you want to join the fun. Check Alta's Instagram Stories and the #AltaLadyShred hashtag to see more photos and videos of the ladies in action.
