The NBC broadcast crew joined Derek Sundquist, a quadriplegic skier, today at Alta as he continues to live his dream as a skier through a revolutionary adaptive ski developed by University of Utah Adaptive sports. Derek controls the ski by sipping and puffing into a straw. It was certainly a day filled with inspiration.
For February 2nd (2/2), the Alta POD is a two-fer - a tutu racer in Alta's annual Groundhog Day race. Incidentally, no one saw their shadow here today, so we're going to be skiing for quite a while. *Edit:* Did I get the Groundhog thing backwards? It doesn't matter, at the rate this winter is going, we'll skiing well into July.
