MY STORY

  • 3x Olympian, Alpine Skiing
  • Homebase:  Alta Ski Area, UT
  • Hometown:  Park City, UT

At two years old, I learned to ski at Alta Ski Area in Utah. I grew up doing many outdoor sports including mountain biking, hiking, camping, soccer and tennis but especially fell in love with skiing. I am proud to have represented the United States in giant slalom and slalom in the 2010, 2014 & 2018 Winter Olympic Games and four World Championship events including 2017 in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Most recently I won the women’s giant slalom title at the 2017 U.S. Alpine Championships.

I spent the past five winters competing at the international level with no support from the national team. Overcoming this challenge was an exercise in athletic perseverance, passion and work ethic. I credit learning these tough life lessons with making me the person I am today and, along with my athletic achievements, I hope to be a role model of these life skills!

In my off time, I am a student of finance & accounting at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, enjoy relaxing in the kitchen while baking and watching movies.

My Alta Story

When I was two years old, both my parents were instructors at Alta Ski Area and I had the choice of growing up at the day-care in Alta’s main base lodge or growing up exploring the mountain. I chose the mountain and fell in love with skiing Alta’s varied terrain and conditions (bumps, crud and powder snow!) Throughout all my years following the World Cup circuit as a professional skier, Alta has remained my favorite mountain and I am happiest when I get to come home and ski iconic runs like High Rustler!

When I was cut from the U.S. Team in 2012, I was suddenly responsible for all the expenses necessary to compete at the international level. Alta immediately stepped-up and I am so grateful for their support of me during my years as an independent skier. My journey to the Olympics last winter would not have been possible without so many people and sponsors like Alta offering help, kind words and donations!
