Albion Grill - Summer

The Albion Grill is located at the Albion Base Area, next to the Sunnyside lift and Albion Meadows Trailhead.  We make delicious baked goods from scratch.  We use Niman Ranch 100% grass fed beef and all natural deli meats from Wasatch Meats.  

Albion Grill is hiring for the upcoming Summer season.  Employment begins in mid-June and continues through early September.  We have a position available for a full-time assistant manager and part-time line cook.

Assistant Manager

The full time assistant manager position is great for a person who loves the mountains and wants to hike every day.  This job is 35 hours per week with a set schedule.  Our ideal candidate should have restaurant and some retail manager skills with a sharp business mindset.  You should also be skilled at organizing and solving problems.  Interpersonal skills will also be very useful, since the assistant manager will act as a liaison between managers, employees, and customers.

The Albion Grill is a cafeteria located at the Albion Base Area, next to the Sunnyside lift and Ski School.  We make delicious cookies from scratch.  Our hamburgers are organic. The meats in the deli sandwiches are organic. 

Albion Grill is hiring for the upcoming ski season.  Employment begins in mid- November and continues through the middle to end of April. We have a position available for a full time live-in employee.

Full time live-in

The full time live-in position is great for people who want to ski every day this winter. This job is 5 days per week and the hours vary, but there is ski time every day. The housing is dorm style and is located near the base of the Collins lift. The lift is less than fifty yards from the door! Call or e-mail for more details on the work schedule or housing.

Alta Environmental Center Summer Information Booth

Position:  Summer information booth starting June 18, 2018

The Alta Environmental Center works with employees and the public to share the ski area's conservation efforts and provide environmental awareness to support a quality outdoor experience.  This summer 2018 the ski area will be running summer operations and is looking for friendly, out-going staff with customer service experience to fill summer information booth positions. These positions require all applicants to work weekends and holidays, part-time to full-time hours available. Start date is June 18 and the season is anticipated to run through mid-September. Building Maintenance

Duties include: daily janitorial cleaning, snow removal and assist building technicians when necessary.  The position is full-time seasonal early November to May 8. Applicant must be an intermediate skier.  Limited housing is available for this position

Building Maintenance Electrician

The Building Maintenance Department is accepting applications for an Electrical Apprentice position. Applicant may already hold a Journeyman or Apprentice license, or have a strong desire to learn the trade. Applicant must be at least an intermediate level skier and comfortable working outside in winter conditions on the mountain. Duties will include assisting the electrician with maintenance and upkeep of existing electrical systems, installation of new electrical systems, as well as assisting the department with other building upkeep tasks. Qualified applicants will be required to commence the State of Utah Independent Electrical Apprenticeship program in the fall of 2018, a four year program that consists of classroom education and on-the-job training. Upon completion of this program, the applicant will be expected to obtain a State of Utah Journeyman Electrician license. Job Description    

As Alta Ski Area steps into its 81st winter, Alta is very excited to add this newest position to the marketing department. Under the direction of the Marketing Director, this position will build and execute all email marketing programs, update and cultivate Alta’s voice and all digital assets across, social media and any other relevant digital mediums. An array of other duties will arise, all of which will be focused towards maintaining and building upon the brand of one of America’s oldest and most iconic ski areas.

Key Job Components:

Digital Brand Management 

  • Execute placement of all Alta marketing assets across partner sites/platforms
  • Responsible for optimization including best practices such as SEO, paid search, load speeds, page scroll depths and familiarity in user trends. Ability to work with 3rd party vendors.
  • Responsible for all content updates within CMS
  • Responsible for creating Google Analytics reports of’s performance
  • Oversee snow reporting accuracy, timeliness and functionality with Alta’s avalanche office

Database Management & email Marketing 

  • Responsible for building and or overseeing eNewsletter template design
  • Manage the design, production and delivery of all eNewsletter communication
  • Responsible for maintaining current, and building new, email segments
  • Working closely with Marketing Director to identify new email communication strategies as it relates to all Alta guests

Social Media Chief Engagement Officer

Necessary Skills

  • 3+ years of work experience in digital marketing

Lift Mechanic

The Lift department is looking for a Ski Lift Mechanic.   Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment associated with ski lifts.  Must be able to think critically and solve problems quickly.  He/she will also be responsible for the preventive maintenance of fixed grip and detachable ski lifts.  Must be comfortable working at heights and skiing expert terrain. 

5 years experience is optimal but all levels of experience considered. Welding/fabrication skills a plus.

Lift Operators

Have fun while working outdoors! This position offers a great opportunity to get to know our mountain.

Lift Operators play an essential role in mountain operations. They spend their days helping skiers load and unload from lifts, interacting with skiers, as well as maintaining ramps in all kinds of weather. Skiing opportunities are available every day.

On site housing is available but limited.

This is a full-time seasonal position.  Shifts are 8:30-5:00, 5 days a week.

  • Working with all departments and employees on mountain operations

Looking for friendly faces to greet, direct, and give information to the Skiers of Alta Ski Area. Snow Cat Operators

Apply now for the 2018-19 winter season!  Snow cat operators' duties include packing new snow, grooming and plowing the ski runs. The schedule for the position is five days a week. The shifts are swing shift from4:30 pm to 12:30 am and graveyard shift from 12:30 am to 8:30 am. The crews rotate shifts midseason. Watson Shelter Café

Watson Shelter is located mid-mountain. The Watson Café isn’t your average ski cafeteria, we serve grass fed beef, organic soups and deli meats, and as many local products as possible. We are looking for motivated individuals who care about quality food and great skiing.

Full and Part-time positions are available.  3 to 5 shifts a week at 4 to 5 hours per day.
