The Alta Environmental Center and Friends of Alta have teamed up to create a free, self-guided activity booklet that helps kids of all ages learn about Alta’s wildlife, geology, ecology, watershed, history and environmental stewardship.
How to become a junior ranger
The Junior Ranger booklet is designed with kids ages 5–13 in mind, but there’s something for explorers of all ages. Complete the activities at your own pace—whether during one day at Alta or over several mountain adventures.

Use the guidelines on page one to complete the different activities.
Show your finished booklet to an Alta or Friends of Alta employee to take the Junior Ranger oath and receive your official badge.
