Alta's paid parking reservation system is only in effect on weekends & holidays (December-March).
• Paid parking reservations are only needed 43 days out of a typical 152-day season
• 109 Alta days are still first-come, first-served, like it's always been.
Yes. In addition to your free parking reservations, Alta passholders can purchase additional weekend & holiday reservations for $25 per day. A maximum of four (4) active—free and paid—reservations per account at any time.
Your first no-show will result in a warning. After that, a $100 fee applies for each no-show. Please note that if you are ill or have an emergency, email altaparking@interstateparking.com. You do not need to drive up the canyon.
Parking reservations can be made online in mid-October.
Cancellations made before 8am on the day of your parking reservation are eligible for a refund.
Parking reservations will open in mid-October for the season. Additional week-of parking reservations will be released every Sunday at 3pm MST—set a reminder.
No. Parking reservations are only required Friday–Sunday & Holiday Periods from 8am–1pm (December 11th–April 4th and Closing Day).
Free parking reservations for qualifying Alta passholders. Qualifying Alta passholders will receive a parking code that can be used to book parking reservations. Reservation codes may be reused once the 8am active reservation date has passed.
- Qualifying Alta passes: Family Package, Adult, 65+, 80+, 18-25, Military, Gold Card, Powder Card & 10-Day Card.
- Qualifying Alta-Bird passes: Family Package, Adult, 65+, 18-25 & Military.
Yes. Your credit card will automatically be refunded within 7–10 business days.
No, the parking reservation will allow the skier to park in any of the designated lots, it does not guarantee a specific parking spot or parking in a specific lot.
Yes. Please work directly with your ski lodge or lodging property and they will advise.
Overnight parking is NOT allowed in Little Cottonwood Canyon, with the exception of designated registered lodge guests, designated private cabin guests and employee parking zones. If you are staying in Alta, it is not necessary to have a car. Most lodges and condominiums are slopeside or provide transportation.
Yes. You’ll need to secure your parking reservation before booking your lesson. Parking reservations are required Friday–Sunday and Holidays from 8am–1pm.

Yes, parking reservations are required on weekends & holidays. Alta's parking crew will make every effort to provide our best available parking to those individuals with ADA plates or placards.
Yes, a $25 parking reservation fee applies to the Grizzly, Flagstaff (South Side), Wildcat and Albion lots Friday–Sunday & holidays from 8am–1pm. Consider carpooling or riding the UTA Ski Bus.
Reservations are verified by your license plate. It's that simple. There are no physical kiosks or booths to slow the flow of traffic in the canyon or at Alta.
Yes. Contact the ski school office to purchase a parking permit valid for the dates of your child's program.
