Ski More Places—STEEPS, MOGULS and POWDER.

A three-day camp for aspiring and advanced off-trail skiers | Lodging Not Included

Ski More Places (SMP) Camp goals are to expand your skiing terrain through the development of specific off-trail techniques on steeper slopes, in moguls and powder as conditions permit.

SMP Camp is for aspiring off-trail skiers who are confidently skiing all groomed intermediate and expert runs with parallel turns and for more advanced off-trail skiers already successfully skiing some moderate off-trail conditions.

Skills and techniques that will be coached and practiced may include:

Steeper Terrain: Manage Speed and Line

  • Leg turning for turn completion
  • Pole use that supports leg turning
  • Visual acuity to be proactive

Moguls: Flow through the Round Line

  • Turn shaping to ski the smooth sine
  • Maintaining ski pressure over terrain changes
  • Pole use techniques in moguls

Powder: Skiing in Rhythm with the Snow

  • Soft carving for smooth turns
  • Float unweighting for effortless turn connections
  • The ready pole for stability

*Skills and techniques covered will ultimately be dictated by the snow conditions over the three days. If we have fresh snow, we will ski as much powder as possible. If not, we may ski more moguls and varied off-trail conditions. Maybe we can practice all three conditions…
