Saturday was an example of why we all need to stay engaged in the Mountain Accord process that asks, among other things, how we are going to handle mountain transportation, recreation and watershed health?

Saturday evening, January 16, on HWY 210 was a bit of a mess for a few hours. I apologize and feel bad for our skiers that had a "stop & slow" ride home.

With mounting avalanche hazard above the Superior/Hellgate section of the highway, UDOT switched to the bypass road. Being steeper and having more hills, the bypass road is naturally a bit slower. On Sunday with about the same number of cars in the canyon and with no snow falling most everyone had a smooth exit.
