Snowshoe with a Naturalist

Third friday of each month.

Strap on your snowshoes and join the Cottonwood Canyons Foundation on a naturalist-led tour of Alta. Volunteer naturalist guides will take you on a two-hour journey through the mountains, sharing insights on everything from animal adaptations and tree species to the rich history of Little Cottonwood Canyon. This is a fantastic opportunity to explore Utah's mountains while uncovering hidden stories of nature that often go untold. Tours are held on the third Friday of each month, from January through March. Registration Required >

  • 1:30-3:30pm
  • Meet outside the east end of Albion Day Lodge near the ski racks by 1:15pm

know before you go

  • Snowshoes are not provided so please bring your own set of snowshoes and proper snowboots for this event.
  • Parking reservations are required on Fridays from 8am-1pm—plan ahead and arrive early!
