Junior Rangers are young stewards of our land who play an important role in helping protect and preserve our natural mountain environment. At Alta Ski Area, the Friends of Alta Junior Ranger Program is a free, self-guided activity booklet that helps kids learn about Alta’s plants, wildlife, geology, history and environmental stewardship.
The booklet is ideal for kids ages 5–13, but there’s fun inside for everyone. Junior Ranger booklets are available from the Alta Environmental Center and Friends of Alta. You can also purchase a copy online to have it shipped to you or download the booklet online.

Using the guidelines on page one, complete the activities in the booklet as you explore Alta
Show your completed booklet to an Alta or Friends of Alta employee, take the Junior Ranger pledge and receive your official Junior Ranger pin
