The various ways to navigate the small mountain town of Alta, Utah.

Alta has free parking at both the Wildcat and Albion base areas, Preferred Carpool Parking and a Town SHuttle.

The Albion Base parking area provides great access for beginners and families. The Wildcat Base parking area is well suited for intermediate and advanced skiers and provides prime parking spots for carpoolers. Overnight parking is not allowed. There is a free town shuttle to get you and your family around town.

Preferred Carpool Parking

New this season, Alta is providing prime parking spots in the Wildcat base area to vehicles arriving with three or more persons. Snag a great spot while limiting emissions and reducing canyon traffic. The VIP spots are first-come, first-served and run all day, every day.

Overnight Parking

No overnight parking is allowed in Little Cottonwood Canyon, with the exception of designated registered lodge guests and employee parking zones. If you are staying in Alta, it is not necessary to have a car. Most lodges and condominiums are slopeside or provide transportation. Avalanche and watershed restrictions prohibit overnight camping and dogs.

A FREE, fast and easy way to get around the Town of Alta. From 8:30am-5:30pm the Alta Town Shuttle makes a continuous loop servicing the Blackjack Condos, the View, Powder Ridge, Superior Point, the Bypass Road homes, upper and lower Sugarplum Village and the Wildcat Base parking area


Utah Transit Authority (UTA) operates a ski bus route between Alta and Snowbird as well as from many locations throughout the Salt Lake Valley. The buses are designed to withstand the rigors of mountain driving. Because of convenient schedule times, skiers can enjoy a full day of skiing.
